Justine Durrell is a San Francisco Bay Area personal injury attorney well known for her skill in handling challenging, cutting-edge cases.  She is a former partner of Ramsey & Durrell, LLP, a firm distinguished over the years for its integrity in representing hundreds of survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  Maja Ramsey and Ms. Durrell were among the first lawyers in the country to handle cases involving sexual abuse by priests and recovered millions of dollars on behalf of the survivors.

In addition to her experience with sexual abuse over her twenty years of legal practice, Ms. Durrell has developed a reputation in other areas of  law which are scientifically challenging.  These include cases involving exposures to pesticides and mold where proof of the cause of the injuries is often difficult.  Further, she is currently doing innovative legal work in women’s health and biotechnology, staying abreast of the burgeoning field of stem cell research and assisted reproductive technology.

Examples of some of her past representative cases with difficult legal questions include:

  1. Bulletthe wrongful death of a woman brought to the emergency room of a County hospital where decedent and health care providers were exposed to mysterious toxic fumes;

  2. Justine Durrell, Esq.a case against numerous defendants for a child with a debilitating neurological disease following extensive mold exposure; and

  3. a physician/fertility clinic accused of failing to disclose to patients the clinic’s mix-up of their embryos.

Ms. Durrell applies her skills of persistence and creativity to all her cases, including insurance disputes, automobile collisions, wrongful death and other personal injury matters.  In representing her clients she listens to the injured parties’ needs, encourages mediation when appropriate and is dedicated to an exceptional representation of the clients’ best interests, including litigation and trial.  For people who have suffered an injury or injustice, the way back is often difficult.  Not only does Ms. Durrell work vigorously for the best results for her clients, but she helps ease the arduous process.  By handling a few number of cases at one time and working closely with the clients, she is better able to serve them and their interests.

Initial consultations are free of charge.  If you have questions about a potential legal case please feel free to call and speak with Ms. Durrell.
